Today, Monday 3rd October 2022, the ISPCA launched their very first PET PARTY to help raise awareness for animal welfare during World Animal Week 1st – 7th October, to coincide with the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, on World Animal Day, 4th October.
ISPCA Ambassador Rosanna Davison joined the ISPCA in St Stephen’s Green, to support the charity along with animal lover Michele McGrath. The celebrities want to raise awareness for the huge role our pets play in our lives and for the unconditional love and companionship our pets give us, so they are calling on animal lovers across Ireland to join them to mark World Animal Day.
Rosanna said: “I am always delighted to support the great work of the ISPCA, who give mistreated animals a voice and a safe haven. This is a cause so very close to my heart”.
Michele said: “We hope pet moms and dads all over Ireland will have their own pet party at home, it’s such a fun idea and our pets will love the extra treats and TLC”.

ISPCA CEO Dr Cyril Sullivan said: “Pets are a hugely important part of our families and we hope animal lovers across Ireland will join the ISPCA to celebrate World Animal Day by holding their own pet parties at home or in pet friendly offices across Ireland. To show just how much our pets mean to us, we will be spoiling the rescued animals in our care with extra treats this week but sadly, not all animals have loving families to call their own on World Animal Day and need our help more than ever. The ISPCA is privileged to provide a safe environment for those pets in our care and we would be delighted if you could join us in our work by donating to our pet party appeal. The ISPCA rely heavily on public support so we can continue our vital work rescuing the many more vulnerable animals who need help. If you can help, please make a kind donation here”.
If you are unable to host a pet party, but would still like to celebrate your love of animals, why not support the ISPCA’s vital work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals with a gift – all donations, no matter how big or small will help give a happier life to an animal in need. All proceeds raised will go towards helping many vulnerable animals get a second chance of a happy life.
