The ISPCA is appealing to the public for assistance in locating a foster mare in the Munster area for a new-born foal rescued earlier this week.
The foal, named little Alfie by animal carers, was rescued in Cork city and admitted to the ISPCA Equine Rescue Centre in Mallow for urgent veterinary assessment. Sadly there was no sign of his mother and investigations are continuing
As a search continues for a foster mare, little Alfie is receiving round the clock care by our dedicated animal carers.
He is doing really well and is enjoying his colostrum bottle feeds until a foster mom can be located. If you can help, please email the centre at [email protected] or by calling 022 43218.
There are many more vulnerable animals just like little Alfie who need to be rescued. Every act of kindness and generosity helps the ISPCA continue this vital work. If you can, please donate here.
The ISPCA encourages members of the public to continue reporting any animal welfare concerns online here or by contacting the National Animal Cruelty Helpline on 1890 515 515 or by emailing [email protected].
