Carefree Peanut is content with her new home

"She has proved quite the hit at the nursing home as a number of the residents and staff love to come and say hello every time we are there"

Peanut was adopted from the ISPCA a few months ago and her family sent in this lovely update about her new life:

“She is brilliant, has settled in so well and is proving to be the most loving and affectionate little girl.

Initially, I was worried as Millie was so fascinated with her and everything she did, that Peanut was not getting a second to herself, thankfully the fascination wore off after a few days.

There is still a bit of sibling rivalry between herself and Millie as they sort out who is the top dog, they are both still puppies after all so it is to be expected. I step in when they get too excited or the play gets too rough and 99% of the time Peanut holds her own very well in the wrestling matches.

They play happily together on and off all day, and in-between they nap sometimes cured up together sometimes as far away from each other as they can get. Peanut still manages to steal all the toys though.

She is still wary of big men and the odd dog or two when we are out on our walks. I have had her to the puppy park a couple of times (at quieter times) and she happily joined in playing ball and chasing with the other little dogs. I keep an eye on her though as she can be snappy with some over-enthusiastic dogs – she has her boundaries and she likes them respected (don’t we all).

I bring both of them to see my 91-year-old Mum a couple of times a week and she absolutely adores them and especially Peanut, who sits happily on her lap during the outdoor visits. She has proved quite the hit at the nursing home as a number of the residents and staff love to come and say hello every time we are there.

As promised I have Peanut booked in with my local vet for neutering, hopefully, it won’t be too hard on her. We had a little pre-op. checkup today and the vet said she is a fine healthy little girl. Anyway, just wanted to let you know she is thriving. Thank you so much for loving and caring for her and restoring her trust in humanity after her sad start in life.”
